Independent calibration laboratory · Lusaka

Precision you can trace.

Veritas Calibration Lab Limited is an independent Zambian calibration laboratory. Our quality system is being built to ISO/IEC 17025. We are pursuing SADCAS accreditation — and we will not claim it until it is granted.

Traceable to SI units

Every calibration is referred through national or international measurement standards to the International System of Units.

Independent & impartial

We have no commercial interest in the equipment we calibrate, or in the outcome of any calibration.

Accreditation in progress

Pursuing SADCAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025. We are not accredited at this time.

MTS Lab technical network

Technical partnership and knowledge transfer from MTS Lab — Veritas as the Southern Africa operator.

What we do

Calibration, and the work that surrounds it.

All services

We calibrate measuring instruments independently of any manufacturer or supplier. Engineering and maintenance, training, and consultancy sit alongside that core so a laboratory or plant can keep its measurement system under control.

Calibration scopes

The measurement scopes across which Veritas provides calibration, delivered with technical partnership from the MTS Lab network.

  • Pressure

Blood-pressure monitors, ventilators, anaesthesia machines, infusion pumps, autoclave and steriliser chamber pressure, CPAP/BiPAP; industrial pressure gauges and process sensors, compressor output, pneumatic systems; assay-lab and environmental pressure systems.

  • Electrical (AC/DC voltage & current)

ECG machines, defibrillator energy output, patient monitors, electrosurgical units, ventilator electrical safety, laboratory power supplies; multimeters, power-quality analysers, electrical-safety testers, motor and drive verification.

  • Air flow (volume & velocity)

Biosafety cabinets (Class I/II/III), cleanrooms and operating theatres, fume and pharmacy hoods, HVAC ventilation, incubators and CO₂ chambers (ISO 14644 where applicable); paint booths, dust-collection and manufacturing ventilation; mine ventilation and assay-lab hoods.

  • Mass (weight)

Analytical and precision balances, pharmaceutical compounding scales, patient scales, pipette verification (ISO 8655 gravimetric); production and QA scales, load cells; assay balances and sample-preparation scales.

  • Temperature

Vaccine fridges, sample freezers, incubators, water baths, autoclave chamber-temperature validation, CO₂ incubators, PCR thermal cyclers, clinical thermometers, temperature monitoring and alarm systems; ovens and furnaces, thermal-profiling, cooling systems; assay-lab ovens and temperature-controlled storage.

Quality & traceability

Impartial work. An unbroken chain to the SI.

Veritas has no commercial interest in the equipment it calibrates. Every result is intended to be traceable to the SI units through national or international measurement standards, and reported with a stated measurement uncertainty at a coverage factor k = 2 (approximately 95% confidence).

That is the difference between a reading and a measurement — and it is the reason this laboratory exists.

How we work with each sector

Why Veritas

A laboratory you can hold to account.

  • 01

    Impartiality

Veritas has no stake in the instruments it calibrates and no interest in a particular result. Impartiality is treated as a condition of the work, aligned to ISO/IEC 17025 Clause 4.1.

  • 02

    Competence

Calibration is performed by trained personnel against documented methods, with records that can be followed from enquiry to certificate.

  • 03

    Traceability

Results are supported by an unbroken chain of calibrations to national or international standards, each with stated measurement uncertainty.

  • 04

    Local, with regional depth

Accreditation journey

Honest about where we are.

Our quality system is being built to ISO/IEC 17025. We are pursuing SADCAS accreditation, and we will not display an accreditation symbol, or describe ourselves as accredited, until that status is granted.
