Quality & traceability

The measurement has to hold.

A calibration laboratory is judged on impartiality, competence, traceability and the honesty of its claims. This page is the differentiator — and the constraint.

Clause 4.1

Impartiality

Veritas performs calibration independently. We have no commercial interest in the equipment we calibrate, no interest in selling a replacement, and no interest in a particular outcome. Impartiality is organised as a laboratory principle, aligned to ISO/IEC 17025 Clause 4.1 — not as a marketing line.

Equipment supply is handled by separate group entities and does not appear here. Veritas does not sell the instruments it calibrates.

Traceability

An unbroken chain to the SI

Every calibration is intended to be traceable to the SI units through national or international measurement standards. In plain language: the result on your certificate is connected, through a documented chain of calibrations, each with stated measurement uncertainty, to a realisation of the relevant SI unit. That chain is the difference between a reading and a measurement.

Measurement uncertainty is part of that chain, not an afterthought. Where we state an uncertainty, it is at a coverage factor k = 2 (approximately 95% confidence). We will never write “95% measurement uncertainty,” and we will not invent a capability we cannot show.

    Your instrument

    The device under calibration — a balance, thermometer, gauge, meter, or other measuring instrument.

    Working standards

    The laboratory’s reference equipment, themselves calibrated, with a stated measurement uncertainty.

    National / international standards

    A documented chain of calibrations leading to a national metrology institute or other recognised realisation of the SI unit.

    The International System of Units — the common language of measurement. Traceability is the unbroken, documented path back to it.

Accreditation roadmap

Pursuing SADCAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025

Veritas Calibration Lab Limited is building its quality management system to ISO/IEC 17025 and is pursuing SADCAS accreditation. Until accreditation is granted we do not claim accredited, certified, or approved status, and we do not display the SADCAS accreditation symbol or ILAC/MRA marks. Interim assurances are those a laboratory can actually offer while it is being built: documented procedures, traceable reference standards, competent personnel, and controlled records.

This site does not display the SADCAS accreditation symbol, ILAC/MRA marks, or any other accreditation logo.

Confidentiality & data integrity

Results that stay with the client

Client information, instruments and results are handled confidentially. Records are controlled so that a certificate can be reconstructed from the laboratory’s files, and so that those files are not available to anyone without a reason to see them.

We do not use client data to train models, sell a monitoring platform, or decorate a case study. A certificate is a controlled record, issued to the organisation that asked for the work.
