Traceability
An unbroken chain to the SI
Every calibration is intended to be traceable to the SI units through national or international measurement standards. The result on your documentation is connected, through a documented chain of calibrations, each with stated measurement uncertainty, to a realisation of the relevant SI unit.
Calibration documentation states the measurement uncertainty and coverage information that apply to the work performed.

The device under calibration — a balance, thermometer, gauge, meter, or other measuring instrument.

The laboratory’s reference equipment, themselves calibrated, with a stated measurement uncertainty.

Confidentiality & records
Results that stay with the client
Client information, instruments and results are handled confidentially. Records are controlled so that the documentation issued can be reconstructed from the laboratory’s files, and so that those files are not available to anyone without a reason to see them.
Calibration documentation is a controlled record, issued to the organisation that asked for the work.
