Services

Calibration you can defend.

Calibration is the comparison of an instrument against a reference of known value, with the result reported and the uncertainty stated. Traceable, impartial calibration is what makes a reading usable for compliance, safety and data integrity.

Core

Independent calibration

Veritas calibrates measuring instruments as a laboratory, not as a vendor. We have no catalogue of equipment for sale, no preferred brand, and no commercial interest in whether an instrument passes or fails. The work is the measurement.

Results are intended to be traceable to the SI units through national or international measurement standards. Measurement uncertainty is evaluated and will be stated at a coverage factor k = 2 (approximately 95% confidence) — never as a bare percentage of “accuracy.”

Calibration scopes

The measurement scopes across which Veritas provides calibration, delivered with technical partnership from the MTS Lab network.

  • Pressure

Blood-pressure monitors, ventilators, anaesthesia machines, infusion pumps, autoclave and steriliser chamber pressure, CPAP/BiPAP; industrial pressure gauges and process sensors, compressor output, pneumatic systems; assay-lab and environmental pressure systems.

  • Electrical (AC/DC voltage & current)

ECG machines, defibrillator energy output, patient monitors, electrosurgical units, ventilator electrical safety, laboratory power supplies; multimeters, power-quality analysers, electrical-safety testers, motor and drive verification.

  • Air flow (volume & velocity)

Biosafety cabinets (Class I/II/III), cleanrooms and operating theatres, fume and pharmacy hoods, HVAC ventilation, incubators and CO₂ chambers (ISO 14644 where applicable); paint booths, dust-collection and manufacturing ventilation; mine ventilation and assay-lab hoods.

  • Mass (weight)

Analytical and precision balances, pharmaceutical compounding scales, patient scales, pipette verification (ISO 8655 gravimetric); production and QA scales, load cells; assay balances and sample-preparation scales.

  • Temperature

Vaccine fridges, sample freezers, incubators, water baths, autoclave chamber-temperature validation, CO₂ incubators, PCR thermal cyclers, clinical thermometers, temperature monitoring and alarm systems; ovens and furnaces, thermal-profiling, cooling systems; assay-lab ovens and temperature-controlled storage.

How it works

From enquiry to certificate.

  1. 01

    Enquiry

Tell us the instruments, parameters, quantities and location. We will ask only what is needed to quote.

  2. 02

    Quotation

You receive a written quotation and scheduling options. No payment is taken on this website.

  3. 03

    Received, or visited

Instruments are received into the laboratory, or an on-site visit is scheduled, as agreed.

  4. 04

    Calibration

Work is performed against traceable reference standards, using documented methods, with measurement uncertainty evaluated.

  5. 05

    Certificate

A calibration certificate is issued. A recall reminder can be set so the next due date is not missed.

East Africa is operated from MTS Lab (Nairobi head office); Veritas is the Southern Africa operator, based in Lusaka. On-site field deployment is available.

Validation & qualification

Facilities that have to hold under scrutiny.

Veritas services, delivered with MTS Lab technical partnership where relevant.

  • Biosafety cabinet (BSC) validation

HEPA integrity (DOP/PAO), viable particle counts, smoke-pattern airflow, inflow/downflow balancing, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols; Class I/II/III.

  • Cleanroom qualification

Particle counting, viable monitoring, pressure-differential and recovery testing, air-change-rate verification, smoke-visualisation studies; ISO 14644 (Grades A–D).

  • Facility & environmental validation

Temperature and humidity mapping, pressure-differential verification, environmental alarm verification, light-level checks, contamination monitoring, ALCOA+ data-integrity support.

Engineering

Keep the system running.

Engineering work is a Veritas service. It is not a shopfront, and it is not a claim of accreditation.

Medical gas pipeline systems

Design review, installation and modification (medical air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrous oxide, AGSS), pressure and strength testing, terminal-unit verification, commissioning and validation to ISO 7396-1, as-built documentation and handover.

Support

Engineering & maintenance

Planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair for laboratory and industrial equipment. The aim is uptime and measurement integrity — not a parts catalogue. Because Veritas does not sell the instruments it works on, a repair recommendation is not a sales opportunity.

Typical work includes preventive maintenance schedules, diagnosis and repair, functional testing and safety checks, installation support, and decommissioning of measuring and laboratory equipment.

People & advisory

Competence, records and independent advice.

These services exist to keep measuring systems reliable and people competent. They are not a shopfront, and they are not a claim of accreditation.

Asset & compliance management

Equipment inventory management, ALCOA+ documentation, audit-ready packages, and compliance gap analysis.

People

Training

Practical training for laboratory, biomedical and quality personnel: ISO/IEC 17025 and accreditation awareness, equipment-specific maintenance, GxP and compliance, measurement best practice, and SOP development.

Programmes can be delivered on-site or at the laboratory, and are designed around the people who actually handle the instruments — not around a generic catalogue of courses. We do not issue ISO/IEC 17025 “certification” of individuals, and we do not present training as a substitute for laboratory accreditation.

Advice

Consultancy

Independent advice on calibration programmes, measurement systems, and the practical work of building a quality system to ISO/IEC 17025. Consultancy is advice. It is not accreditation, and it is not an inspection.

Typical questions: which instruments actually need calibrating, how to structure a recall system, how to treat uncertainty in a quality file, and how to prepare a laboratory’s own documentation without theatre. We will not claim another body’s authority, and we will not sell a branded software platform as a substitute for competence.
